Professional MBA Comes to Hampton Roads
We're excited to announce that beginning in Fall 2020, the Virginia Tech Professional MBA program will expand to a convenient location for Hampton Roads residents. While the program curriculum and schedule remain the same, the program is modified slightly to cater to students based in Hampton Roads.
The Professional MBA classes meet in person just one weekend per month (Friday and Saturday). Virtual instruction and collaboration in between class sessions mean you can earn an MBA and advance your career without leaving the workforce. The hybrid format of the Professional MBA allows you to benefit from both the flexibility of an online program and the enriching experience of an in-person program.
Currently, the class weekends alternate between Roanoke and Richmond, but students based in Hampton Roads will only need to travel to Richmond. When classes take place in Roanoke, Hampton Roads students will attend class at the newly opened Tech Center Research Park in Newport News. Zoom-enabled classrooms will allow students to virtually attend class with the rest of their cohort, while providing space for breakout sessions for the project teams.
A hallmark of the Professional MBA program is the diverse cohort of students from across Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic Region that attend classes together in the lockstep schedule. While students from Hampton Roads will primarily work with the other students based in the region, they will also have the opportunity for in-person collaboration and socializing with the wider cohort during orientation, class weekends in Richmond, and optional networking events across the commonwealth.
Students based in Hampton Roads will attend class weekends at the Virginia Tech Newport News Center and the Virginia Tech Richmond Center in Henrico, VA.
